Pivot Pointe Counseling Center is a collaborative group practice of highly trained, top-notch, professionals. Our team of mental health counselors, masters-level interns, and office personnel are committed to meeting the diverse needs of our clients by offering quality care with integrity, empathy, and compassion. Pivot Pointe offers counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups as well as professional training workshops and seminars. Portia E. Jones, MA, LMHCA
Portia understands that making change can be difficult and the decision
to begin therapy or coaching is a courageous one. It is important to
have a team that is committed, compassionate, encouraging, and genuine
to honor this decision and offer the support needed to transform your
life. This understanding is what led Portia to use her education and
dynamic life experiences to establish Pivot Pointe Counseling Center as a
place where each practitioner truly empathizes with their clients and
offers a helpful perspective that empowers them live out their purpose.
Nate Meeds, MA, LMHCA
The quality of our lives is determined by our relationships and Nate understands the importance of positive and meaningful relationships. Nate values people and appreciates their unique situation. Using compassion and encouragement, Nate empowers his clients to foster healthy relationships in their lives thus working on improving themselves. Beginning therapy is a commitment and Nate is honored to walk with you on your journey.
Katherine Latter, MA, LMHCA
Katherine believes that people can transform, weather the storms of life, and gain tools and insights to help them do so. She provides a safe environment, filled with compassion and empathy, in which clients can share their hearts, their fears, their dreams, and their stories.
Heather Mitchell, MA, LMHCA
Heather approaches counseling holistically with an integration of person-centered theory and existential counseling. Her intention is to come alongside you, help explore and understand your values, assumptions, and ideals. Heather believes we are influenced by the past, but our current and future successes depend on the decisions and actions we make today. Her hope is to be sensitive to and help you explore your strengths, opportunities and freedoms, as well as your weaknesses, limitations and responsibilities so you can experience challenge, comfort, growth and understanding.
Kendall Jones, BS, Counseling Intern
Kendall has traveled extensively and appreciates the unique qualities of people all over the globe. His spirited method of coaching and counseling combines his knowledge of sociology and human development to support his clients with a balanced perspective.
Kanu Jacobsen, BS. Counseling Intern
Kanu specializes in women and adolescent girls (15 and older), as well as immigrants. She works with her clients to empower them to overcome personal obstacles to become who they aspire to be. In her role as a Life Coach she has worked with many women using Brief Solution Focused Therapy. Working With Immigrants, Kanu demonstrates a multicultural approach to counseling clients who are immigrants or come from families that have immigrated to the United States.
At Pivot Pointe, we understand that life can be difficult at times and it is in those times when people can lose hope, direction and purpose. However, we believe that with the right support, those difficult times can actually be used to grow and transform you into the person you were destined to be. This place of change is truly the "pivot point" and when you are ready, we are here to take that turn with you.
