Welcome! Thank you for taking a look at my profile and I hope you find what you are looking for. I have always had a genuine interest in understanding people and helping them live more fulfilling and satisfying lives. I believe that my passion and sincerity comes through in my work with each person I meet with. I work closely with people to develop healthy relationships with others, realize their academic potential and lead a fulfilled life. My compassionate approach creates a safe and welcoming environment -- for children, teens and adults -- where positive change occurs.
I believe in empowering my adult clients and parents by encouraging them to take an active role in establishing goals that are attainable yet demonstrate progress. Goals are tailored and individualized for each person. With young children, I use play therapy techniques to provide the child with a positive growth experience in order for them to discover their internal strengths. My approach is grounded in contemporary research and focuses on fostering a strong therapeutic relationship with the families I work with to achieve emotional and personal growth. This relationship will be the base on which we will work to improve coping skills and create a secure sense of self. Oftentimes, what occurs in the person's day to day life in their relationships is replicated within the therapeutic relationship. I use this information to help each person understand themselves and in turn, make appropriate changes to meet one's goals. I focus on ensuring each person, no matter the age, feels heard and understood through the mode of communication that is developmentally appropriate (i.e. through play) and comfortable for them.
I earned a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology – Argosy University. My professional experience centers around providing individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I have worked in a variety of settings, such as college counseling centers, nonprofit mental health organizations, in homes providing early behavioral interventions to children with developmental delays, and primary care clinics. I work closely with local schools and other health professionals. When appropriate and with the person’s approval, I collaborate with other professionals in the community so one feels that there is a team of professionals supporting them and helping them reach their goals.

My specialties include depression, interpersonal relationships, anxiety, grief and loss, identity development, LGBTQ issues, stress management, bullying, body image/disordered eating, parent-child attachment and co-parenting. Please send me a message and I would be happy to set up an initial phone consultation to determine if I would be a good match for your needs.
