I have been practicing since 1993 providing treatment for individuals, couples, teens and families. I specialize in eating disorder treatment to help people recover from food and weight problems. My work also focuses on healing early childhood trauma, improving relationships with others as well as the self, and dealing with infertility and adoption issues. I'm interested in whole person and whole life wellness.
In individual psychotherapy or in couples therapy we will work together in a safe and supportive environment to find your way out of the pain, the shame, the longing for more, or the struggles that go along with these experiences. We will discover what leads to the stuck patterns and what leaves you feeling like you've lost control over the choices you make. Our relationship is a large part of the process. I will not only provide support, but also draw on my expertise to offer education and new insights.
Psychoanalysis can help you move into a deeper knowing of your inner and outer world. In a collaborative and interactive process with me, you can become more reflective about yourself and more authentic in your relationships. Knowing yourself well is the key to living most authentically.
I thoroughly enjoy my work and feel honored to be a part of this very significant journey in people's lives. I believe the trust and safety of the therapeutic relationship allows for healing of very deep and personal pain and longing, and allows one to discover his or her most authentic self.
Find your new path out of Eating Disorders, the pain of past traumas, or troubled relationships, and find yourself. You can develop a healthier relationship with yourself, your body, your food, and those people who are important in your life. Let me help you discover your most authentic self and the joy that comes along with that.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold my doctorate in Contemporary Psychoanalysis. I am a Training and Supervising Analyst, Faculty, and a past member of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis where I received my training. In addition to providing psychotherapy, I also teach and supervise others who are therapists, I'm on the board of directors for two eating disorder professional groups in Southern California, I write and present professionally, and I plan and oversee programs for psychoanalytic training.
I love all the professional activities in which I participate, but my true passion lies in helping my patients out of their pain and ultimately finding their freedom.
