   Dr. Wes Center is the President and Clinical Director of Focus for Living. He is licensed in the State of Texas as a Professional Counselor Supervisor and is a National Certified Counselor and a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. Dr. Center holds a Master of Arts in Education, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology and Counseling. Dr. Center is a retired Marine officer and veteran of the Gulf War. In addition to his work in private practice, Dr. Center has served in a number of inpatient and outpatient settings in mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities, most recently at Millwood Hospital in Arlington and Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth. Dr. Center is also an adjunct faculty member of the Graduate School of Counseling at Liberty University and the Psychology & Counseling Division of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Center also serves as a consultant to public and private schools and curriculum designers in the area of neurocognitive development and instructional techniques.

   In order to address the whole person, Dr. Center and the other staff at Focus for Living assess the clients' strengths and weaknesses cognitively, emotionally, spiritually, as well as in the area of the clients' particular concern. Dr. Center uses a variety of approaches to treat a wide variety of client concerns. In working with those having prior psychiatric/psychological diagnoses, he uses quantitative electroencephalogram-guided neurotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, spiritual direction, and interventions appropriate to the strengths and weaknesses of the clients. Neither Dr. Center, nor the other clinicians at Focus for Living, accept clients with a previous diagnosis of a personality disorder but will assist those persons in finding a referral source. We do not currently take insurance but are actively pursuing a contractual relationship with Tricare Prime/Active Duty/Retiree/Spouse and Dependents through Humana Military and the Tricare South Region and Aetna.

   Dr. Malinda Fasol, PhD is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Texas and a neurotherapist and psychotherapist at Focus for Living.  Dr. Fasol completed her undergraduate studies at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo where she received her B.A. degree in Communication & Education. She earned her M.A. degree in Marriage & Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology & Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

   Dr. Fasol provides a holistic approach to counseling, taking into account the client’s spiritual, cognitive, emotional, physical, and relational strengths and weaknesses in addressing the client's concerns. She views counseling as a process in which the client and the counselor come to understand and trust one another to work as a team to explore and define the situation, develop future goals for an improved life and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals.  Malinda also spends time educating the client about proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep hygiene.

   Dr. Fasol works with individuals, couples, and families. She has extensive counseling experience in a variety of settings, including church-based counseling ministries, private practice, and social services organizations. Malinda served as a director of a non-profit foster care agency, and worked with foster children, foster parents, and biological parents. Additionally, she has worked as a researcher and clinician in the area of media and distorted body image. She is actively involved in promoting healthy body image in teens and adults.
