My philosophy of therapy and change is that change comes from within. As a therapist, I ask a great deal in asking an individual to change, as change is an incredibly difficult task for everyone. My approach for addictions counseling consists of utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and a great deal of mindfulness and mediation. I prefer the holistic and spiritual approach to overcoming addiction challenges and highly suggest the addition of 12 step support groups as well as addictions counseling. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment for clients to be open about their experiences and work together to find inner peace and cultivate change.

Clients will benefit from the specific approaches I use for co dependency through motivational interviewing and holistic therapies. I will seek to motivate the client to maintain their sobriety by identifying his or her intrinsic motivations and values. A holistic approach views all parts of a person's health as equal, including the body, mind and soul. When treatment focuses on the whole person rather than just treating the symptoms of addiction, a person can overcome their substance abuse and see improvement in other aspects of their life.
