Your anger has gotten out of control and you don't know where to turn. Grace Wellness Center offers faith based counseling for anger. In this approach we integrate Biblical truth with sound clinical practice to help a person truly be free. We recognize that anger often results from relationship problem and further affects a person’s ability to connect in healthy relationships. Therefore, we have a strong relationship component to our anger management counseling. We help people find ways to more effectively meet their needs in relationships and therefore making anger outburst less necessary.

I help clients to learn specific ways to "get where they were going" before they were blocked by a person or by circumstances. Clients discover that they have viable alternative routes that are readily available, and that they can easily by-pass becoming angry, and that they can do so without "losing face." There is no anger to be controlled or channeled. Clients tell me that they are immediately successful outside of our sessions in bypassing becoming angry. Sometimes they report that they discovered that "becoming angry" was serving purposes that they discovered only when they practiced bypassing becoming angry. I have published two chapters in professional books on this topic.

I have recently authored a book for clinicians working with anger management, "Anger Management Jumpstart: a 4-Session Mindfulness Path to Compassion and Change." My work with anger management is mindfulness-based. I also utilize an original approach for impulse control called Choice Awareness Training. I offer workshops on facilitating anger management to clinicians as well.
John Neyman, MA., DS., BCPC
Location: 680 Lincoln Ave, Pittsburgh
John Neyman is an expert in anger management. he prefers to call it anger resolution. it is far better to resolve anger, rather, than manage it. He will get underneath the surface to assess what is the root cause of the anger in order to resolve it. John Neyman uses the 4 Universal Laws designed to conquer anger. Once the root cause of anger is discovered and the 4 Universal Laws are applied to the behavior the cause and effect will take place to produce anger resolution. However, anger management or resolution is not derived without work on the client's part.

I use a cognitive-behavioral approach to treating people in need of anger management. Specifically, I help clients identify anger triggers, employ relaxation techniques, increase self-regulation, and communicate effectively. After learning these skills, my clients have reported having better relationships, more peace, increase focus, and improved self-esteem.

Although anger is a natural emotion, not being able to properly manage anger can cause both physical and emotional damage. Most individuals that have difficulties managing their anger have not been taught healthy, appropriate ways to cope with and manage their anger appropriately. Our anger management focuses on teaching individuals how to reduce their levels of anger, especially when faced with challenging events and stressors. Also, the program teaches effective coping behaviors to stop the escalation of anger and to resolve conflicts in an appropriate way. Our program utilizes the three major anger control interventions: model presentations, rehearsal, positive feedback and promoting.

Everyone gets angry now and again. Some people, however, fail to appropriately display their anger at times. There is nothing wrong with being angry--you're allowed to be angry. You're not allowed to be aggressive, and that's the difference. Anger is a feeling; aggression is an action. I can show you how to be angry without being aggressive. Come in and let's work together on changing some things.
