Career counseling is provided in a variety of forms at James Foster & Associates. Clients are assisted in exploring difficulties they are experiencing on the job. Work place counseling is provided at our office as it relates to job related stress, anger, relational patterns, transitioning to new positions and the struggles that one encounters in leadership roles. The Clinician will work with the client to develop a treatment plan that is most appropriate and beneficial for a positive outcome. We will also work with employers and corporations that require consultation, EAP referrals and/or employee issues.

I'm not a career counselor in the sense of someone who will administer career tests or function directly toward your career as might a specialized career counselor or head hunter. Rather, I'm a psychologist with a general practice who has seen many people make job and career changes. Sometimes these were motivated by finally reaching a point of admitted lack of fulfillment, frustration, and literally "dreading" returning to the same situation. For others, layoffs and changes in available work finally were forcing a change.
