I have worked with children and their families for 21 years. I find that my systems thinking cap enables me to think past labels that have been placed on children's behavior all too quickly. Children are complex, and I take a thorough, mindful approach to uncovering what what needs may be unmet. I work often with highly sensitive children, particularly those who are gifted and twice exceptional. I also work with children with Aspergers who are motivated to come to therapy. I meet with parents on a regular basis for updates and feedback. I often use family sessions to work on the parent-child relationship and sibling issues.

I love children they're so sweet, but it can be difficult for them to process things sometimes. Counseling them is just as much as helping them process as it is expressing themselves. I do many games, art therapy, and play therapy as a way of helping them and getting to know what they are seeing as well. What may be seen as something minor in their eyes could a bigger deal or vice versa.
