Children experience many different stages of life but may not be able to express their feeling due to fear, not feeling comfortable, respect or not wanting to anger loved ones. Many times children can internalise their feelings. This can cause them to act up in their adolescent, teen and adult years. Unpacking feelings in a safe space and addressing them can help them heal, process and thrive.

I try to create a space which is welcoming and kid-friendly. Children communicate best through play and it's through play therapy that children's emotions are fully expressed. Whether parents are going through a divorce or a child is simply having difficulty relating to friends in school, the therapeutic setting is helpful for giving kids the tools that they need to feel good about themselves and to succeed in life.

At this point in my professional life as a psychologist I no longer directly work with young children. However, I do work with the children's parents in order to assist them in meeting the multiple challenges which can be present in a marriage, which in turn can have an effect, not only on the emotional well-being of the children, but on themselves as well.
