We evaluate how each negative thought pattern has served them in the past, then we search for alternative thoughts and behaviors to put to the test. The client will leave therapy with a greater appreciation for themselves as well as new behaviors and thoughts to help them develop a positive body and self image.

A wholistic approach to this problem is necessary in that it has to be addressed on both a physical and psychological basis. Having proper nutirition is important, combatting thinking errors is important, coming to terms with one's body is important, and addressing perfectionism and false perceptions of reality is also important with eating disorders. Learning healthy control, and how to be assertive in getting needs met is also critical.
