As a psychologist, I use my training to help people resolve the issues that are keeping them from living the life they want to live. This is partly done through the use of Narrative Therapy, although other models of therapy also inform my work. I can diagnose mental health issues if this is useful for my client, although it isn't required. As a psychologist, I cannot prescribe medications, but I can provide you with referrals to psychiatrists (who do have this training and the needed credentials) if this is desired.

As a PhD psychologist and marriage–family therapist for over 28 years my approach has been highly influenced by the executive coaching and consulting work I've done in the business world where there is a high demand for results. Many clients have given feedback that I'm much more active and involved compared to therapists they've seen in the past, and they appreciate this rather than just sitting back and listening without much comment. I have a very strong desire and commitment to help every client that I see make major changes in their life leading to greater fulfillment and happiness—this is what I strive for with every individual!

Stress management is a must when you have so much going on in your life! And my extensive knowledge of interpersonal dynamics can help you to navigate relationships in both your professional and personal lives, creating more opportunities to nurture, and benefit from, meaningful connections with others.

My private practice is called Life Ripples because I believe that each individual is faced with life challenges. Whether we choose to or not. However, we have a choice as to how we respond to it. At times we respond to life ripples in unhealthy ways, which can represent any mental health issue. Life is too short to waste away each day and miss out on an opportunity to make a change. Don't wait.

To be a psychologist is to be be honored by trust. With this gradual trust, it's possible to look at oneself with compassion and accountability. This combination creates better choices, deeper understanding, and a newly developed capacity to self-examine in a healthy way. Healthy self-examination is foundation for all therapeutic change. What can be more healing than to be able to answer the question "What can I do differently?"

As a Doctoral level licensed psychologist in private practice, I specialize in adult psychotherapy. I enjoy working with adults from young adulthood to the later stages of life. Developing a therapeutic relationship with you, to allow you to feel supported, listened to and understood is the basis of beginning the therapeutic work. As we learn more about your present and past relationships with yourself and others, you may begin to gain insight and understanding of yourself, others and begin to see new options and choices for you. Therapy is a place to begin to open up your mind to new thoughts and ideas. Therapy is about making the changes you want to enhance your life.

I practice from a highly integrative approach in order to best meet the needs of each and every client. Whether one may be experiencing anxiety, depression or symptoms related to the experience of trauma (or any other concern), I enjoy customizing your therapy experience to your personality, needs and symptoms. I believe great change can happen within a supportive relationship and because of this I strive to be an authentic, naturally imperfect person for you to connect with. Within an established relationship our work may touch on many areas of your life including relationships, self-worth, family history and current distressing behaviors. Over time, you will have the opportunity to reduce stress and increase your ability to be present in your life.
