Through experienced and compassionate individual counseling, supportive group counseling, and mental health education, we help those who are struggling with mental and behavioral health issues to find answers, relief and permanent ways for coping with the challenges in life.

Our counseling services are provided by NYS licensed and highly trained professional therapists. Their areas of expertise cover evaluation, assessments, counseling and recommended therapies to assist with a broad range of mental, emotional and behavioral issues. Services are provided to individuals, families, couples, adolescents and children.

Phil Rainer, MSW, LCSW-R
 Phil Rainer holds a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from the State University of New York at Albany. He has over 25 years’ experience providing counseling to adults, teens and couples. His broad range of experience includes psychotherapy, clinical supervision, college adjunct and field placement instruction, Mental health program design and management, professional workshop development and facilitation, management consultation in private industry and government organizations, consultant to news media on mental health issues, and public relations representation. Phil is known for his professional expertise combined with a warm and humorous personal manner.
 

 Lacey Putnam, LMHC
 
Lacey Putnam, LMHC, has worked for over 10 years as a therapist. She graduated from Columbia University in 1991 and the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 2002, with a degree in Counseling. Lacey started working in the helping profession in 1992, after realizing that a degree in Classics offered few opportunities for employment. Early experiences included job coaching individuals with severe mental illness and providing residential support and management for group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Since becoming a therapist, Lacey has enjoyed working with children, teens and adults, specifically in the areas of addiction, behavior management and coping with mental illness.

 

Patricia Huber, MSW, LCSW-R

Patty Huber
Patricia Huber graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1999 and currently practices as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Patricia has 15 years of experience in the field of mental health and addiction. Patricia has a particular passion for utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to help clients’ navigate their thought process and the impact that has on their everyday well-being. Patricia is skilled in the facilitation of individual and group psychotherapy as well as well as program management and development. Patricia is a firm believer in developing a partnership with her clients to guide them along the path of their own recovery.
 

 Carol Lynn Youtz, LCSW
 Carol Lynn
Carol Lynn Youtz is a licensed clinical social worker with a Masters from the State University of New York at Albany. Carol Lynn brings compassion and a deep commitment to helping people find the best within themselves. Together with her clients she develops individualized ways of dealing with critical life issues. She is experienced in managing a broad range of mental health concerns with creativity & humor. Carol Lynn has a special interest in helping people manage the pain of transition and loss.




Lavonne Freeman, LCSW-R, LICSW
 Miss. Lavonne Freeman, LCSW-R, LICSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in AlbanyYou've taken the first step in finding the right Therapist to meet your needs. Sometimes this step in and of itself is the most difficult and often times a scary step along this path and journey. Those feelings are normal, and my job will be to make this a non-threatening and ultimately rewarding experience for you. I have been in the field of counseling for over 20 years with a focus on helping individual adults and/or couples who are struggling with feelings of sadness and despair, relationship issues, work stress, loneliness, fears, family conflict, decision making and anxious thoughts.
 

 Sue Quinn, MS, CASAC
 Sue has a Master’s Degree in Chemical Dependency from Sage College (2001), and a Bachelors’ Degree from SUNY Albany in Psychology and minor in Sociology (1992); she also has a CASAC and certification in Gambling Addiction. Sue has been a clinical counselor working with families, individuals, and adolescents for about 21 years. She has worked in various settings and most recently with the NYS Drug Court System for six years. Sue has been an EAP counselor for the past five years and is a former Instructor at HVCC in Human Development and chemical dependency.

 


 Christine Sloat, MS, RD, CDN

Christine received her Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from the University of Delaware. She completed her Dietetic Internship and Master’s Degree in Applied Nutrition at the Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY. Christine is certified as a Dietitian-Nutritionist by the State of New York and a member of the national Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Christine completed her clinical training at Albany Medical Center and currently enjoys working out in the community to help individuals fulfill unique dietary needs. Christine has counseled individuals and taught nutrition classes on various topics from cooking with diabetes to general healthy eating. She is involved in ongoing research with Sage Graduate School and the United Way to evaluate child nutrition programs. She is also the Registered Dietitian, for Stewart’s Shops and regularly contributes to a nutrition blog on their website.



 


 Jonathan White, MS, CASAC, CEAP, SAP
Jonathan White

Jonathan has a Master of Science degree in Psychology and Religion from the University at Albany. Jonathan has more than 25 years of experience in mental health counseling and training. As a certified counselor, Jonathan, along with being well versed in all topics of EAP counseling, has expertise in grief and loss, spiritual matters, gay and lesbian issues, chemical dependency and addiction. In addition to his counseling role at Capital EAP, Jonathan also heads the Right Way program, a DOT qualified drug and alcohol screening and assessment program. He also provides reasonable suspicion training to employers.
