Getting help for your problems takes courage. Trying to find someone who understands and can help is a bigger challenge yet. If you are someone struggling with food and body image, you may find that help and understanding can be found here.

I work with clients who eat too much, not enough or compulsively exercise. Many of my clients have chronically dieted to no avail and are done with the roller coaster ride.  I have been counseling people with eating disorders for over 16 years and find it rewarding and challenging. Eating disorders are so isolating and shameful for sufferers and taking the first step to get help is a big deal. Congratulations.

My approach to working with Compulsive Overeating, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder is gentle and respectful. In 1998, after seeing so many clients in my practice with similar problems, I decided to develop a program to help meet their recovery needs together. In this program, I promote Intuitive or Mindfulness eating, non-weight-loss focused interventions and Health at Every Size (HAES) in my 10-week intensive program called

                                  Healing Your Relationship With Food

The program offers guidelines for intuitive eating, relief from binges, assessment and treatment for depression and anxiety, establishing self-care practices, understanding and resolving the underlying problems and strategies for healthier relationships This program has aftercare groups after the 10-week program and offers clients continued support and reinforcement of the principals taught in the primary 10-week program.  I work with men and women individually with all eating disorders if group isn't your thing or additional support is wanted while in group.

The bulk of my practice is individual work with men, women and families affected by eating disorders. I also provide speaking engagements, lectures, workshops and expert interviews.

I am affiliated with NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association), BEDA (Binge Eating Disorder Association) and ANAD (National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders).
