"I can help you fully discover your unique talents and passion. Only by recognizing and ending destructive patterns can we unlock our true potential and I would be truly honoured to help you find and walk your path."

We all search for more meaning and self-understanding in our lives. Jungian psychotherapy is a journey of soul building and personal transformation. I have been counselling people for the last 25 years in the Halifax area, and now online through phone and e-counselling, and I would be honoured to help you find your true unique path.

Maybe you thought you had married Helen of Troy or Alexander The Great, but discovered you had just married Helen or Alex. Maybe you feel like you run into walls in your life and you don't know why, that you're not making the progress you know you're capable of. If we can look closely at our actions and the roots of our behaviour, we often find that we are unconsciously repeating destructive patterns. Jungian counselling provides an exceptional tool for all of us to deepen our capacity to live and to love more completely and to more effectively chart our personal growth and to achieve our personal goals. I want to help you solve these issues that cause so much trouble, sabotaging your creativity and your spirituality.

Jungian Psychotherapy can help alleviate feelings of anger, fear and guilt that hold back your personal development and can help with issues ranging from marriage troubles to anxiety, depression and even drug addiction. However, the Jungian therapeutic approach is not necessarily easy. This type of therapy does require work and commitment. We will become a team, helping you deal with old memories and plans for the future. Many of us find that we are living someone else's life, with someone else's priorities. Through examining your dreams, daytime fantasies and artistic expressions, Jungian counselling helps you to identify the problems holding you back and to find the real you. I would be truly honoured to help you find your authentic self.

Your talents, creativity and potential are unique and my approach is not to try to squeeze you into a clinical box, but rather to help you find and walk your path. Just as a carpenter needs different tools to solve different kinds of problems, there is no one psychological solution for everyone. Rather than immediately diagnose you, I strive always to work with you to find the roots of your difficulties. Whether you are dealing with divorce, mid-life crisis, depression or a spiritual crisis, Jungian analytical therapy helps you find the right solution for you. This is a safe place for you to tell your story, in a supportive, understanding environment.

Except for one year studying Clinical Pastoral Education at the Fort Logan Mental Health Centre in Denver and two years doing a masters in Carl Jung's Depth Psychology at New York Theological Seminary, I have been living in Nova Scotia since 1960, have been an ordained Baptist minister since 1966 and have been helping people find their path through my psychotherapy practice in Halifax for the last 25 years. I have been married to a wonderful woman for 40 years and we have two boys, now grown into men. I have made it my life's work to help people live their lives more completely and I continue to strive to be useful to the Halifax community and now to the wider world through phone and e-counselling. I would find it genuinely rewarding to help you in your journey.

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling Association, have been in ministry for over 40 years; have had two years of Clinical Pastoral Education; am a fully certified supervisor and taught C.P.E. for 15 years; was the director of Pastoral Care at the Abbie J. Lane and Camp Hill hospitals for twelve years; have had a full time psychotherapy practice since 1984; have had many years of Jungian training analysis and many years of Jungian supervision. I have four degrees (B.A. Acadia; B.D. Acadia; STM University of King's College; STM New York Theological Seminary), the last masters in Pastoral Care and Carl Jung's psychology.

I have given a variety of workshops, courses at local universities (including masters level courses for students studying theology and counselling) and many lectures at churches, libraries and interviews on television and radio. I am a teacher, author, columnist, public speaker and specialist in dream analysis and personality type.

I live and work in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia counselling in Jungian Psychotherapy in the Halifax region and I also do e-counselling by Skype and phone throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Ontario.

I welcome the chance to help you come to know yourself in a deeper way and experience an increased sense of joy and freedom.
