Theresa creates an atmosphere of grace and acceptance while helping each client achieve their personal and relational goals.
Theresa earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University, and Bachelor of Science in Education from The College of St. Teresa's in Winona, Minnesota.  Theresa holds a Certificate of Advanced Training in Somatic Experiencing, which is a form of therapy aimed at resolving and relieving mental and physical health problems and post-traumatic stress (PTSD) symptoms by focusing on the client's perceived body sensations.  Somatic Experiencing (SE) was developed by Dr. Peter Levine, PhD to resolve the physiological effect of trauma on the body.  Also, Theresa has received extensive training in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
Theresa specializes in assisting clients recovering from traumatic life events, which have led to anxiety, phobias, depression, and self-destructive behaviors. Wellness and Lifestyle Changes are another component of the recovery process, in which I provides support and direction to those who desire change and restoration of their optimal level of functioning and restoration of their authentic self.
When not at the office Theresa can be found enjoying the great outdoors hiking and cycling, practicing yoga, or just messing about with family and friends.
