Welcome! You're here because you're searching for help with your current life difficulties. You may have tried to resolve your problems on your own, but it just hasn't worked. I want to help.
Selecting the right therapist is an important decision. Please read about my approach to therapy and how I help clients. If you think we'd be a good fit, please feel free to reach out.
In therapy, my goal is to assist you with reducing the symptoms that bring you to counseling while also helping you gain greater self-awareness. Exploring your problems, fears, goals, and desires in a safe place helps you to know yourself better. As a result, you can begin to accept and integrate all parts of you. It is this acceptance that allows you to open to change and healing.
In our work together, you can decrease anxiety and depression, while overcoming past hurts such as childhood abuse. In the process, you can also experience more joy and satisfaction and improved self-esteem. I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship - research shows that the quality of the therapist-client alliance predicts positive outcomes. Therefore, I aim to create a safe, caring, and empathetic environment to allow you to explore your most important concerns.
In our sessions you can expect to focus on the topics and events you'd like to discuss that day while receiving my full and engaged attention. I participate actively in therapy sessions and strive to provide you with valuable ideas and insight. Additionally, I always appreciate your feedback about our work together. I want to know what works for you, and what doesn't work. You can feel free to share all your feelings, thoughts, and reactions.
My approach to therapy is informed by a variety of theories including family systems, emotion-focused, and relational/interpersonal. I actively expand my knowledge through training, consultation, and ongoing reading/research. I strive to tailor my approach to my clients' personalities, presenting concerns, and goals for therapy.
If my approach sounds like it might be a good fit for you I encourage you to click through to my website to read more. Or you can always call or email me. I'm glad to answer any questions and schedule your initial appointment.
