Personal Bio

Lesley-Ann Thomas is an accredited member of the Canadian Counselling Association – the highest designation of counselling in Canada.  Lesley-Ann earned her degrees; B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed. (Psych.) from the University of Manitoba.  She completed her practicum at the U of M Student Counselling and Career Centre.

Lesley-Ann has additional training in crisis intervention, depression, suicide, abuse recovery, communication, and health and wellness.  She has provided counselling services in public school, post-secondary, and community health centre settings.

Lesley-Ann’s approach in counselling emphasizes a collaborative partnership between herself and clients that is developed in a respectful and professional environment.  She establishes warm and genuine therapeutic relationships.  Her aim is to empower a client to make desired changes and meet personal goals.  Whatever issues or challenges compel a client to seek counselling, Lesley-Ann is committed to helping a client understand experiences, identify tools and resources, make conscious choices, and bring about a greater sense of hope and satisfaction in their lives.

As counselling is a legitimate source of support that people seek out for a variety of reasons, Lesley-Ann has helped clients with a range of issues.  Some of those issues include:

Lesley-Ann has been married for fifteen years and has two children; eleven and six years of age.  She currently provides counselling services in private practice for adults, adolescents, couples, and families.
