I am a member of the College of
Psychologists of Ontario and the Ontario Psychological Association, with a
full-time private practice in North Bay, Ontario. I have more than 30 years of
clinical experience in the mental health field.
Prior to obtaining my doctorate at
the University of Ottawa, I worked in applied clinical psychology, including
child, adolescent and adult designated clinical settings for nine years. I
began work as a social worker for a mental health agency in North Bay, ON, becoming
a social work supervisor shortly thereafter. Subsequently, I assumed the
position of psychometrist, having built upon my previous psychometric
experience. My comprehensive Ph.D. examination pertained to Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder, with my internship involving assessment and treatment
of adults with Conduct Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder, as well as
individuals incarcerated and referred for mental health treatment (i.e., anger
management, domestic violence).
I have practiced child and
adolescent psychology over the years, working as a child and family clinician
before becoming clinical director of the Provincial Autism Program. In 2005, I
joined the Department of Psychology at Nipissing University, teaching courses
in Abnormal Psychology, Psychopathology, Clinical Psychology (Counselling), and
Introduction to Psychological Assessment. I have since devoted myself solely to
private practice, including both client care and mentoring graduate psychology
students. The combination of experience I have acquired through teaching,
research, and private practice has allowed me to stay abreast of the new
developments in the field of clinical psychology and has advanced my clinical
My expertise in these various fields
has culminated in abiding empathy for the difficulties of human development.
Caring and compassionate therapies combine with experience and mature knowledge
to offer uniquely individualized treatment to each client.
