In 1996 she graduated with her Masters in Counseling from Rollins College, Winter Park Florida. She has been in private practice, as a psychotherapist in Florida since 2000. With a background in massage, she is uniquely qualified to address mind/body issues in counseling. Additionally, she works with chronic pain and health concerns through a body-focused awareness.
Michele is a Christian and therefore can address issues from a biblical point of view. However, she welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, as counseling is not about forcing her views on you. Counseling is an exploration of you. Discovering how you cope, what brings you joy and what needs have to be met for you.
She has some basic principals that create her foundation of counseling. One foundational truth is we have feelings, we are not our feelings. We have thoughts, we are not our thoughts. Becoming aware of thoughts and feelings, knowing the difference and then challenging them, as to whether or not those thoughts and feeling are accurate is paramount in understanding who we are and how we see ourselves and others.
Michele has an eclectic style of counseling. She is intuitive and has created a safe place for you to express your concerns.
Life is a journey. Lets learn to enjoy the road on which we travel.
She would love to have the opportunity to work with you thru any medium: in person, over the phone or via email.
