Powers Relational Therapy, P.A.

Powers Relational Therapy View Specialties

Hello and welcome!

We are Anna and Nathan Powers, both relationally-trained Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in Florida who work with individuals, couples, and families. We received our Master's degrees from Valdosta State University in Georgia. We help our clients work on self-growth, improve their relationships, heal from traumatic experiences, and increase confidence to achieve their personal goals and improve overall life satisfaction.

A relational or systemic therapeutic approach means that in addition to helping you to explore and gain understanding of your life as an individual person, we will help you to consider your life in connection to other people and to your experiences as they relate to the challenges of being human. We are trained in multiple therapy approaches that we will tailor for your specific needs. Please call or send an email to let us know how we can help you.

We are both gender affirming Safe Space providers for the LGBTQIA+ community. When you begin working with us, you can expect genuine kindness, professionalism, and mutual respect. We will work with you collaboratively to develop therapy goals that encourage healing, progress, and align with your personal values. We will also develop a personalized and flexible treatment plan as a guide to help you take steps toward making progress.

As with any new undertaking in life that requires time and effort, you will get out of therapy what you are willing to put into it. Meaning, choosing to attend therapy is a commitment you make for your own wellbeing and to improve your relationships and requires focus and dedication to be effective. As your providers, we will adjust our therapeutic approaches to best fit your unique needs and make adjustments as needed.

Typically, the therapy process begins with meeting once weekly for 55 minutes until notable progress is made, then reduces to biweekly or once monthly maintenance sessions. If you prefer talk therapy or a therapy approach that does not involve as much talk-processing such as EMDR or ART, please let us know. We're happy to answer any questions about the therapy process. If you are engaging in telehealth, ensure that you have a strong, stable internet connection and that you are in a private, safe place for your session.
