Jessica Hocutt, LMFT, LPC
Marriage & Family Therapist and Professional Counselor
231 South Carroll Rd., Villa Rica, Georgia 30180
Connection Family Counseling specializes in providing Christian marriage therapy to assist couples in creating more meaningful, connected relationships. Jessica Hocutt is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. Jessica believes that couples benefit more when we recognize our Creator as the center of our life throughout the process of therapy and understand the values and wisdom given to us through Scripture on doing life (and relationships) God's way. We can ultimately find healing and forgiveness through our Savior when we would not be able to on our own and we can have our needs met through Him in ways our spouse is incapable.

In a world where we are constantly witnessing human cruelty and brokenness it is common to ask the question of, "Why, God?" or "Where were you, God?" Our spirituality and faith are tested day by day making it difficult to stay consistently connected to God. It's especially hard to do alone, which I believe is why God gave us one another in community. You will find my office to be a place of peace, prayer, soul searching, and forgiveness. Together, we will wrestle through scripture and discussion in search of answers to the difficult questions of life. My goal is that in time you will find healing and restoration in your faith.

All of man's issues come from the fall of man into sin and the resulting separation from God. All of the issues that we have in our lives is a direct result of the fall and living our lives apart from God's will and purpose for our lives. During our counseling we will look at what scripture says about our issues what ways we can effectively address them and practical scriptural applications in our life to draw us closer to God. God desires for us to have a fulfilling life one that involves Him in every aspect of our lives. When we do this we draw closer in our relationship with Him and begin to recognize His voice, call and purpose in for our life. This allows peace and Joy to replace stress

I give my clients the opportunity to utilize scripture when substituting dysfunctional thoughts with healthier thought patterns. I also utilize visualization and art when helping clients minimize the effects of trauma or abuse from the past. These unhealthy childhood messages no longer have to dominate your present or predict your future. I believe many people are living as captives when freedom is available.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. If one honors God's natural laws of reaping and sowing around the decisions one makes, one is indeed living Scripture to its fullest. We prepare the brain to better maximize the spiritual realities of Christ's words. Contact email@example.com.

Faith and spirituality can provide comfort and meaning to those guided by their beliefs. I was raised in a Christian household myself so I have an appreciation for the values instilled by religion, the importance of tradition, and the strength of community. My approach to counseling is humanistic and welcoming of all spiritualities. Though I do not incorporate any specific pastoral counsel, I encourage my spiritual clients to draw on their beliefs during the counseling process.

Our goal is that each client would have their unique needs met to achieve their personal goals. To that end, we offer faith-based or Christian counseling for those clients who desire it. We look to the client to let us know if they want to incorporate their faith into sessions, and to what extent. We do not assume that every client wants to address spirituality in his or her sessions, and during the first session we work with the client to create a plan to best meet his or her specific needs. Respect is a core value at GROW, and regardless of the client’s politics, worldview, or faith, we seek to meet them where they are and provide resources that will help them reach their individual goals.

Although I am a Christian counselor, 80% of my therapy regimen is based on psychological theories and exercised. God gave us wonderful science and I would be remissed if I did not use this in my practice. However, I also strongly believe that bringing God into the treatment process gives clients hope, energy, motivation and inspiration. I believe in the power of prayer and the importance of developing a strong relationship with Jesus Christ to help us manage parts of treatment that we can't manage on our own.
