I offer family therapy to whole and parts of families. A systemic family approach is used in which the family is viewed as a system with parts or members who interrelate with each other affecting the whole system. Issues involving parenting, adolescents, abuse, and loss are some of the concerns that are addressed in family therapy. Therapy will release feelings of hostility, anger, resentment, sadness and helplessness.

However, I believe there are more than one way to look at the same situation: it is usually a systemic problem.

Family therapy is often beneficial if one of the family members is faced with a problem that impacts the whole family unit . As a therapist, instead of hearing one client's point of view, all family members have a chance to explain their perspective on the problem and subsequently problem solve together. In the case of teenagers, I often meet at the beginning of the session with the teen and parent(s) and subsequently meet with the teen alone. This helps to strengthen family bonds and keep the lines of communication open while it also allows me to have time to address concerns with the teen that are not necessary family related.
