Helping you find wholeness...
2345 University Ave, Bronx, New York 10468
Psychotherapy is a process that you engage in with the assistance of Christopher. He will help you explore what is going on as well as areas that relate to it. As you do so, you will address different issues and/or patterns and explore alternatives to them. Doing so, allows you to address a variety of things (relationship issues, dealing with stress, depression, lifestyle issues (including life stages), rasing children, family dynamics, control and autonomy issues, work (or lack thereof), grief and other losses, anger control, self-image, self-esteem, addictions and others) and end up at a place where you can experience wholeness and peace. Christopher welcomes you to this journey.

There are two main ways to have therapy, which are described below. The best approach to help you get the results you want may involve a combination of styles or techniques. 1. Open-ended Therapy Sessions: Some people work towards the solutions best by having a weekly appointment and sharing whatever is on their mind in an open-ended way. This facilitates awareness and personal growth. 2. Structured Therapy Sessions: In structured sessions, a clear plan is always in place and you will know exactly what is going to happen at every session. You might be guided to practice particular skills or review certain types of interactions. Both approaches are helpful. We can tailor for your needs.

One of the most life altering actions when seeking to gain traction in the struggle to live a satisfying life is the choice to work with a therapist. It signaled a ground-breaking change in our approach to meeting the challenges we faced; demonstrating a shift that embraced the possibility of tapping into knowledge and support outside our own skull. Most of us have a better ability to see and understand the actions and motivation of others than our own. We all have personal blind spots. This is evident early in therapy, when one experiences striking progress as a result of new insights gained in therapy.

Psychotherapy focuses on all of you: you and your relationship. It looks to understand who you are and how your partnership or marriage works, both practically, as well as deeply and even unconsciously. Psychotherapy offers you and your marriage the chance to get out from under the unconscious baggage that can destroy relationships and make you unhappy, anxious, and depressed. And, psychotherapy, more so than any other treatment modality, offers lasting relief from emotional pain and from the cycle of dysfunction that traps us and prevents us from living a satisfying life.

The decision to begin psychotherapy can be life-changing. I work to guide clients towards achieving their personal goals and reaching their potential by helping them to discover new, creative responses to life's inevitable stressors. I believe that a safe, nonjudgmental space is essential for allowing one to feel free enough to work on problems they are facing. Together, we will work toward shining light over pathways that lead to enriching new experiences, more meaningful relationships and deeper overall satisfaction. I treat adults, adolescents, and couples, using an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies, tailoring treatment to each individual.

My main goal as a therapist is to help people cope with and manage the thoughts, feelings and self defeating behaviors that have lead to their current problems. I do this in two ways. First, I help clients develop strategies to decrease negative thoughts so that they can focus on what they want to do, instead of focusing on thoughts that hinder them.. Secondly, I help clients explore underlying issues that may be contributing to their current problems. Clients benefit from this process by having all the information they need to make better informed decisions about life goals. It has been wonderful to see my clients make changes that have lead to more satisfactions and joy in their lives.
