There are so many factors that can affect people as adults as the result of growing up in an abusive childhood. There are so many types of abuse and so many different forms of abuse that many times, when these survivors become adults, life may actually be harder for them than when they were children or even when they were survivors. Probably the more common issues that survivors will have as the direct result of being abused as a child are anxiety, depression, and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Also common are trust issues and intimacy issues in adults.

If you're contemplating a long-distance relationship, there are a lot of things that you should consider. Really, it would be best to hear stories from others who have been in long-distance relationships. These stories may lead you to think about things you may not have considered, especially if you’re entering a new relationship and you are still in the "ga-ga" phase. Take time to think about everything involved before you jump into a relationship that is long distance.

Many people have had past relationships with individuals who shared similar interests and who were great companions. Some give credit to their exes for helping them through rough spots in their life, showing them they have worth, and/or being their "safety net". Sometimes when relationships end, people vow to remain friends, knowing that they are in a better place because of those now ended relationships.

Sex is an uncomfortable topic for an awful lot of people, as if by definition it’s dirty and shameful. Nothing could be further from the truth. It’s one of the most natural, human elements of life, and one of the healthiest, too, when it’s sex between two people who love, respect and are committed to each other.
