Camille Cosby has declared that her husband, Bill, is a kind and good man She dismisses accusations that he is, in fact, a serial rapist.
According to recent count, 47 women, dating all the way back to 1969, claim the comedian maneuvered them into situations that resulted in non-consensual sex. Mr. Cosby, himself, has admitted, in depositions that were opened by court order, that he has, without permission, used quaaludes, which are sedatives and hypnotics, to ensure the success of his seductions.

In February of 2014, a rape accusation of one of the great patriarchs of the 1980’s resurfaced. News casters and reporters were revisiting Bill Cosby, otherwise known as Heathcliff Huxtable’s past accusations of sexual assault against multiple women. Since 2005, women have come forth alleging that Mr. Cosby violated them. Some of the events stemmed as far back as 1970’s but weren’t brought to light until 2005. Toya Graham is a single mother who lives in a run-down and dangerous neighborhood in West Baltimore. She was not a likely candidate for national recognition, and yet, there are many who are hailing Toya as a hero. Riots broke out in Baltimore following the death of Freddy Gray, a 25-year-old African American man. Toya would not let her son participate in the riots and took a stand on this.

In recent years, however, the safety of the sport is being scrutinized as there’s a growing body of research evidence suggesting a clear link between football and brain injury. Specifically, repeated head concussions endured by many professional football players have been found to cause a brain disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). According to Wikipedia, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is described as a form of progressive degenerative disease. The show clearly documents the creators’, Andrew Jarecki and Marc Smerling’s ten-year immersion into the life of Robert Durst, the eldest son and heir to the Durst family real estate empire. The creators were fascinated with the story of Durst who may have been involved in the deaths of his close friend Susan Berman and his neighbor Morris Black, as well as the disappearance of his first wife, Kathleen Durst.

In the wake of trauma many people feel lost and alone. The person they were before the event occurred seems altered. Where they once felt strong and assured they now live in fear and uncertainty. While not every person will have this experience after going through a life-altering event many will. Trauma can alter how a person perceives the world but it does not change the core aspects of who you are as a person.

Sex trafficking is one of the most complex, under-investigated, and misunderstood issues today (Estes & Wiener, 2001). Not to be confused with willful prostitution, the Trafficking Victims Protection Act defines sex trafficking as "the recruitment, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act where such an act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion or in which the person induced to perform such act has not attained 18 years of age" (Kerry, 2013).
