Experiencing grief and loss can be one of the most difficult times in our lives. It can also be tempting to try to delay our grief or push it to the side for an unknown time in the future when we can “deal” with it.
The truth is that the only way to truly “deal” with grief is to experience it. And the way we experience grief is by going through the mourning process. The longer we resist our grief, the more difficult it becomes.
Good Grief is designed to help adults who are currently going through the mourning process as well as for those who would like to take the first steps on the journey.
We meet on a weekly basis and the group is led by a professional helper that is trained to assist and walk alongside those who are experiencing grief. The goal is not to make grief go away, but to experience it and then incorporate that experience into a new way of living.
While painful, grief is good. It allows us to reintegrate and make sense of loss and sadness. It is the natural path that leads up back to living once again.
Cost is $15 a meeting. There is no registration, but please call ahead to confirm your interest.
