  • Contact Information: Two Week BFRB Management Workshop Learn strategies to manage your BFRB in this 2-week online workshop, Mon Oct 16 & 23 Starts on Mon, Oct 16, 2023 5:00 PM PDT Location: Online Join us to learn how to identify, understand, and manage your BFRB (Body Focused Repetitive Behaviour | hair-pulling, skin-picking, nail-biting, cheek-biting, etc.). Whether you have BFRB yourself or are supporting someone with it, this interactive workshop will help you with practical management strategies. The workshop will introduce the Comprehensive Behavioural Model (Com-B) that integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the SCAMP domains. Date & Time Mon Oct 16 & 23, 2023 – 5:00pm-7:00pm (Pacific Standard Time) The 4-hour workshop takes place over 2 weeks. It is designed to be taken all together. Presenters Kathryn Atkinson (she/her) graduated with her MA in Counselling Psychology in 2011 from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Kathryn has worked with BFRBs with children, youth, individual adults, couples, families, and groups since beginning her internship in 2010. She also works as a university instructor at the bachelor and graduate level. She is designated as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and holds a Clinical Supervision Certificate from the University of Ottawa. Jason Yu (he/him) has 3 years of experience delivering mental health workshops, and is a counselling student with Island Clinical Counselling. He has found his way into counselling after leaving a career in civil engineering and overcoming his shame with his own compulsive skin-picking and growing up in white spaces.
