I've been a licensed psychologist for 20 years, working with a variety of clients from different backgrounds and lifestyles. I have performed psychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults, and psychotherapy and psychoeducation in groups, families, individuals and couples. Throughout the years, I have found what I enjoy doing best: helping people resolve trauma and grief, and repairing unhealthy relationships. My education had prepared me for many different roles, but I find that private practice psychotherapy is ideal for me. I love providing therapy to individual teens and adults, and couples in traditional and nontraditional relationships (including same-sex couples and polyamorous relationships). I would love to help you heal from the past.

There are many different types of therapists out there, with a variety of specialties, levels and types of training and experience. Trying to understand these differences and finding the type of therapist that is right for you can be confusing and sometimes frustrating. A Psychologist is a mental health professional who has an earned Doctoral Degree and passed the most rigorous professional training and licensing requirements in the field. These professionals most typically focus their practice on talk or behavioral therapies and have the widest variety of and deepest understanding of and training in therapeutic techniques. Psychologists are capable of working with the widest variety of issues including the most complex and challenging types of mental health issues.

Taking this step towards seeking help is a courageous and kind choice. And I know how challenging this can be. I have engaged in my own journey to unpack and release unhelpful beliefs, limitations, and burdens that weren’t mine to carry. I changed my career path and became a psychologist because this work has been so transformative for me. It is my passion to help you on this journey. I am a pre-licensed counseling psychologist this means I have completed doctoral coursework and am working towards gaining licensure in my state. I received my degree from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. I have seven years of experience working with clients and am supervised by licensed psychologist Maya Weir.
