Marriage and Couples Mental Health in New Haven

All Our Kin offers ample training and support to ensure children’s success in school and life.2 The non-profit offers two services to parents: Family Child Care Network and Early Head Start. Through the first, parents connect with other families and child care providers. For parents who have lost their babies during pregnancy or infancy, The Hygeia Foundation community provides two programs for families who lost their babies: Bereavement Support and Burial Assistance.5 The second program especially targets low-income families referred from Connecticut medical institutions. Family Services and Assistance Programs

Being in a financial crisis not only effect the immediate physical needs of one’s family but also the emotional and mental health needs. Financial struggles can cause, anger, depression and anxiety in the family unit. Families in need can avail Cash Assistance services from the Connecticut Department of Social Services’.6 The Safety Net program provides employment opportunities while helping families pay for basic needs like food, rent and utilities for up to 12 months.7 The other two programs, Temporary Family Assistance8 and Employment Services,9 act in a similar way but come with more restrictions.
