I have always had a passion for working with kids, and find that when a child feels heard and validated, they open up and connect very easily. I never pressure a child to talk to me, and instead discuss mutual interests and fun activities as a way to build rapport. Typically, I find that when a child is empowered with the skills to manage his or her emotions and communicate their thoughts and feelings effectively, they walk through the world with a different level of confidence and more willingness to make healthy choices. Dr. Kelsey completed specialized training in pediatrics and is also certified as a school psychologist. She has worked for over 15 years with children and teens. Her team also includes several excellent therapists who also love working in this area. Teen therapy is often conducted by our board-certified DBT clinician who helps teens work on emotional regulation and learning to feel positive control over their emotions, which increases confidence and positive self-esteem! Child therapy is often a combination of skills training, and activities that feel playful and help us children to understand themselves better. We also complete full psychological assessments (ASD/ADHD, dyslexia, etc!)
