This includes couples who are partners and not married, married partners (of any sexual orientation), siblings, parent-child or unrelated friends. My experience of 50 years working with all types of couples integrates a number of techniques and is tailored to each couple, depending on the presenting issues and situation.

Working with couples is extremely specialized and should only be done with a trained clinician. Please ask the right questions to ensure you are in good hands with someone who knows how to guide you. The client is the relationship - not the individuals! So an individual therapist is not the way to go here. At KML, we have a trained PSYPACT psychologist who is licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), so she can work in any PSYPACT state. This work should focus on what the couple wants for their relationship (sometimes the goal is uncoupling kindly), guiding the couple in healthy growth of the relationship, and all without shame!
