I practice a form of psychotherapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT). It is based on the idea that thoughts and feelings are just a normal part of life and something we don't have much control over. Because of that, we need to spend less energy trying to control our thoughts and feelings and more energy working on our actual behavior and values. I will help you learn to overcome the difficult thoughts and feelings that come up for you while you pursue the things that are most valuable and meaningful to you.

Family therapists are not generally thought of as psychodynamic in nature. As a Bowenian therapist, however, I have a strong affinity for the psychotherapeutic approaches. As such, I believe that the family unit, and by default the individual members of the family system, are deeply affected by the intergenerational patterns that repeat over multiple generations.
