My therapy approach is particularly well suited to help you understand your addictive behaviors. I will guide you to exprience your own insights about the nature of thought and how your thinking contributes to your experience of life, moment by moment. I also provide a variety of resources for you so that you feel supported while you go through the process.

For some people addictions and compulsions are just a way to get rid of bad feelings. The problem is that the bad feelings always come back. Compulsive and addictive behaviors - like obsessive and compulsive disorder, gambling, sexual addictions, eating disorders, cutting, etc. - can work very much like alcohol and substance abuse. They are ways of controlling strong emotional reactions of anxiety, anger, sadness, loneliness or guilt. I use 90-minute and 3-HOUR SESSIONS to identify and fully resolve the roots of your emotional reactions so that they no longer trigger the urge to self-medicate.

I began my career in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction, and believe that addictions primarily express difficulties people have in tolerating strong emotions.
