I have served as a pastor and was elected to serve as chaplain to the police and fire departments of Dighton-Rehoboth, as well as counselor town’s board of select men. I work with an entire person--the mind, emotions, body, spirit, relationships. I offer an alternative approach to traditional psychotherapy because sometimes we are stuck beyond our thoughts. I believe we are often stuck beyond how we think about something, but by how our body holds and remembers the experiences. After all, we feel the anxiety in our chest, shoulders or stomach. When we are depressed, we struggle to move, sleep, concentrate etc. I work to remove the block from wherever it is stuck. My clients come to me after years of ineffective therapy. They are looking for more than talking about their struggles or identifying how they think about them in favor of a change in living.

My approach to psychotherapy begins with developing a relationship with you which will lead to a problem, cause, solution - when this is your goal, or a longer term deeper exploration that encompasses the level of inner delving that you desire. What you feel, you can heal, and often it requires gazing deeply within to re-write the script that has been running your life. It is your time to take the wheel and leave auto pilot behind. It is my job to guide you on this journey.

I leverage a solution-based approach to clearly outline your primary challenge, work through an exercise to meditate on and define your future state and then work over 8 sessions to achieve it via homework and 1:1 sessions. I offer an eclectic range of interventions and counseling to help people grow and change stuck patterns in their lives. This includes exploration of both early life, and helping clients ground themselves and build upon their identities in the present moment. It is a balance of encouraging compassion for themselves, as well as empowering them. Often this includes healing shame, and building skills of mindfulness. Clients need to walk away with a toolbox to use to cope with daily stressors and the knowledge they can survive pain and suffering if needed and become more of their full selves in the process.
