Individual psychotherapy is a wonderful time to have a one on one relationship with someone who doesn't judge, doesn't tell you what to do, but sits with you while you explore your innermost thoughts and feelings. If that sounds scary, it's not really. Clients have told me that I have a compassionate air about me. I do ask probing questions to help you get to the bottom of an issue, but we talk about strategies to help you move forward. I only ask that you bring curiosity to each session. Someone who frequently answers questions with "I don't know," probably won't be a good fit for me. I work best with people who are open to homework assignments to see which ones get you closer to your goal.

I use a variety of therapeutic interventions to help folks overcome the issues that hold them bound. Psychotherapy is just helping change the mind, thoughts and behaviors to work together in a healthy fashion where they have been working against you in a negative spiral. We get locked into patterns of thinking and often need someone else to be objective and help us change our negative bent.

When we experience negative, uncomfortable or inconvenient symptoms we want relief. Whether your symptom is anxiety, depression, grief, anger, panic, stress, fear, intrusive thoughts, or loneliness it makes sense to seek a solution. In my practice, I work with my clients to fully understand their distress, the source of their symptoms and develop a treatment plan. When suitable, I offer EMDR treatment solutions, mindfulness/meditation training, emotionally focused treatments, and psycho-education.
