Substance abuse and substance dependence are similar, but not the same. As your addictions coach, we will work together to determine if you or a loved one is experiencing substance abuse, or suffering from substance dependence, the more serious of the two. Substance abuse can often precede a more dangerous substance dependence problem. But there are other factors to consider, including mental health problems such as depression or anxiety.
