Careers are integral to the identities of many people, while for others careers are simply means for attaining a happy life. Whether you’re developing your first career or looking to switch careers, I use a combination of assessment batteries and counseling to explore my clients’ goals, preferences, and aptitudes to identify their career path and develop a plan for achieving it.

When transitioning out from the education system, people often face a variety of foreign obstacles. Throughout our work together we will spend time focusing on personal and professional goals while also taking into consideration the emotional impact big changes puts onto a person. We will learn to find balance between pushing forward towards the good, and honoring the emotions associated with a loss of innocence/support/structure/etc.

In counseling with me, you will gain insight into your hopes for the future, as well as the fears that might hold you in what is currently comfortable. From there, we will set practical and achievable goals both for the short and long term, helping you to realize your perfect or dream career!

I leverage a solution-based approach to clearly outline your primary challenge, work through an exercise to meditate on and define your future state and then work over 8 sessions to achieve it via homework and 1:1 sessions. Clients have experienced great success with this approach, my goal is to empower you - YOU have the answers and I want to help you find them.

I see careers as extensions of who we are as people. If you are trying to decide whether it’s time to make a change, or need guidance on better determining your next career steps, I offer support and provide a safe place for you to do that. I love helping clients evaluate their interests, skills, and abilities, and then walking through the development of realistic goals. Please note that I do not provide specific aptitude tests or achievement assessments.

It's really important to do what you love. My clients will be able to gain clarity about the work they want to do. I will assess client's strenghts and provide valuable feedback. Clients will find more joy in the work they do or realize that they possibly need to change positions depending on their situation. Often times, teens have a hard time know what they want to major in college or if they need college. Together, we will explore what aligns to the client's goals and values.
