We are all travelers on a journey called Life. Sometimes we stumble or feel lost when we encounter obstacles and crossroads along the way. Each person has the opportunity to seek a path toward happiness, but many of us carry baggage that becomes excessively burdensome. In family therapy, I often see families either together, or individually to begin our work. Understanding of family of origin often gives us a new perspective on our own family. I work with blended families as well to help navigate the issues many families deal with on a regular basis. Most family therapists inadvertently create more chaos through their well-intentioned efforts to assist a family move through a change process. Why?
