I provide brief solutions-focused psychotherapy to help clients assess personal and professional functioning, clarify goals, and strengthen social and emotional skills. I specialize in brief online relationship counseling. Online counseling allows clients to seek help as needed, engage in therapy at a schedule that's convenient to them, and keep their counselor as they progress through life. I work with LGBTQ and hetero clients on individual, couple, and alternative relationship concerns. My primary modalities are Brainspotting and EMDR. I believe that empathy is the cornerstone of all healing. By being empathetic, I can become more attuned into how to best help you discover what is inhibiting you from moving forward and living life to the full. Individual therapy (sometimes called “psychotherapy” or “counseling”) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist—in a safe, caring, and confidential environment—to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential past experiences, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. Sometimes, the impact of relationships, lack of relationships or the end of relationships can be the catalyst for individuals to seek therapy. Some clients come to therapy in order to heal from hurts suffered from past relationships.

I have more than 12 years of experience helping people resolve anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. I help clients find the emotional support and confidence to lead more satisfying and effective lives, freed from self-limiting beliefs and behavior patterns that keep them stuck. I help them look closely at how they react to situations and how to undo what doesn't work, while helping them build stronger self-acceptance and greater self-esteem. In doing this, I use powerful but gentle tools such as EMDR and the Emotional Freedom Technique which help dissolve negative beliefs and replace them with positive attitudes and a sense of empowerment.

My main approach is cognitive-behavior therapy. This means exploring how your core values and experiences influence the thoughts and emotions behind your actions. You will learn how to recognize and correct thinking errors. I also use a variety of techniques for Gestalt Therapy. Many of my clients find it useful to do role plays before having tough conversations with family members or bosses.

Most of us have visited a doctor or a dentist before and know what to expect - most of those specialties have the same sort of feeling. With therapy, there is a very wide range of options. While I have many helpful techniques, I do not have an agenda for you.
