Grief and loss may take many forms, be it the loss of a loved one or beloved pet, a change in finances/employment/health, or even the breakup of a meaningful relationship. Resolving grief can seem insurmountable, and also become complicated if we avoid the difficult feelings that accompany the grieving process. Grief doesn’t ever go away completely, it changes over time. It is important for each person to have their own journey with grief. We will work together to honor the one you lost and help you establish a new normal. Losing someone or something you love is profoundly painful. One of the greatest myths we hear is that “time heals all wounds.” In reality, time often deepens the ache unless we give ourselves permission to grieve. Healing requires space to mourn, honor what has been lost, and gently begin to carry it in a new way. It is my privilege to walk alongside clients as they move through grief toward healing, meaning, and peace.

Grieving is a normal process filled with pain. Sometimes the process can be made easier by talking to a someone. People who are grieving the loss of a loved one or the loss of a relationship are often confused about the meaning of the loss and have raw emotions just below (or sometimes directly on) the surface. I provide three things: 1) a compassionate place to talk about the loss, 2) ways to figure out what the loss means to you, and 3) ways to take the loving memories of the person in your heart while you manage to move on with life with a healthy sadness rather than intense despair.
