It is our view that Depression has many similarities to addiction; where the brain seems to be "addicted" to being sad and/or negative. In this approach, clients benefit from learning new strategies of thinking that will serve as a substitute, and eventually a replacement, for their current maladaptive, depressed way of thinking. A systematic strategy is used to promote positive thoughts and overcome learned helplessness.
