As a therapist who has worked with both teens and adults with substance use disorders and addiction for years, I can say I truly enjoy being a part of the healing that takes place in recovery. Addiction is still one of the most stigmatized mental health issues, and still somehow seen as a personal flaw more so than a brain process. Healing from addiction requires someone that has the experience to know when to empathize, and when to challenge and it takes a therapist with a ton of patience and compassion to be comfortable reaching into the darkest parts. Addiction is not your fault, but recovery becomes your responsibility and it helps to have an ally willing to go there with you.

Adam is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He holds a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Texas. He also holds a Bachelors in Social Work. He was trained in Addictions at the well known Hazeldon Addiction Counselor Training school during the mid 1990’s. He has over 20 years experience in mental health and addictions working in both clinical counseling and management roles. During that time he worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community based mental health clinics, addiction treatment centers, and private counseling.
