Our certified educational therapist provides preventative services to children (5-7 years old) at risk of developing learning disorders (dyscalculia, dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc.) through early intervention using the SEARCH and TEACH programs. SEARCH is the scanning tool that assesses for learning struggles/differences. TEACH is an individualized therapy program based on the SEARCH findings. The SEARCH and TEACH program can identify any vulnerabilities that would lead to a later disability in reading. Once identified, the TEACH therapy specifically targets the areas of weaknesses to make them stronger. Once these rebuilt foundations for learning are in place, the child is able to move forward.

I specialize in the treatment of young children. My treatment approach varies depending on the child's needs. However, I am trained in play therapy, behavioral-based therapies, and parental training. One treatment model that I am trained in is Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT aims to help improve the parent-child relationship through interaction. My goal isn't just to connect to the child, but to connect the parent(s) to the child. We will work on emotions identification and connecting deeply with everyone in therapy. My master's degree (Cornell) is in child development. I have worked more than 40 years with families, agencies and schools on ALL child problems, including birth defects and all developmental and behavioral problems.
