I am a born again Christian. I am married and have two daughters - ages 13 and 28. I believe in and have used strategies such as Love and Logic and Total Transformation in teaching parents behavior management techniques. In marriage relationships, I feel strongly about the Love and Respect model. My practicum and internship were completed at a domestic violence shelter where I worked with and assisted a diverse population consisting of survivors of domestic (including sexual) abuse. Several events in my life have helped me to develop a sense of empathy as well as coping mechanisms which I am able to share with those I counsel. My parents are divorced but my grandparents were married for sixty years so I have seen both what works and what does not. I am a survivor of childhood incest and of rape as a young adult. I struggled with substance abuse as an adolescent. I would like to tell you that there is hope for the hurting. I offer in person, in-home (on a case by case basis), and e-counseling services.
