Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is the leading psychiatric hospital in Columbus, Ohio, offering both inpatient and outpatient programs for adults age 18 and older. All genders are welcome. Specific programs at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry are designed to assist with healing from a variety of mental health disorders as well as addiction recovery. Mental health concerns treated at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry include PTSD, aggression, depression, self-harm, and anxiety. We also assist patients who have been diagnosed with cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, dementia, and psychosis. Our inpatient treatment program is for adults and seniors who are seeking recovery from mental health disorders, addiction, and co-occurring disorders. We offer an acute inpatient program that provides 24-hour care. Our treatment team is led by a psychiatrist and includes nurses, social workers, dietitians, and other highly qualified staff members. Generations, an inpatient program for seniors, provides age-appropriate programming to help seniors who have dementia-related illnesses and other mental health challenges. The general goal of the Generations program is to stabilize patients and empower them to step down to a less intensive level of care or return home. Our dual diagnosis inpatient program provides services for people who have a secondary condition of substance addiction or dependence. This program's focus is to stabilize the patient’s mental health while also treating the addiction. Concerns about detoxing may deter people from getting the help they need. Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry offers a medically supervised detox program at our addiction treatment center. Medically supervised detox helps patients withdraw from opiates, alcohol, and other substances safely and with as little discomfort as possible. Our intensive outpatient behavioral health treatment program offers comprehensive care for individuals who are seeking lasting healing from mental health and co-occurring disorders. Intensive outpatient programming provides a level of care between an inpatient treatment center and traditional outpatient treatment. Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is committed to helping every patient who is struggling with a mental health concern. In addition to our mental health treatment center, we also operate the Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) program. CPST provides advocacy services and mental healthcare management. The CPST team assists people of all ages who are seeking care for their mental health through family education and training, help with accessing community support systems, self-management, and more. The highly qualified staff at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry fully evaluates each individual’s needs and develops a comprehensive individualized treatment plan. We offer effective service and therapies that are appropriate for our patient base, including medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and experiential therapy. With the understanding that different levels of care are beneficial for different needs, our hospital includes six different care units: intensive care, crisis stabilization, geriatric, geriatric medical, dual diagnosis, and intensive outpatient. Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is unique in our commitment to improving the quality of life of people in the Columbus area who are struggling with mental health concerns. We strive to recognize and meet the needs of patients and their families while giving back to the community we serve.
