Robbie Robinson Hutchens is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has been leveraging her clinical skills for 18 years.  She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.  Her systems training and creative mindset enable her to glean the complexities of relationships and equip her clients to manage their lives in a collaborative, refreshing manner.  Robbie practices in a peaceful, secluded setting to support her clients' need for warmth, comfort, and confidentiality.  She offers evening and Saturday appointments to aide those in relational crisis to enter therapy more efficiently.

Her practice also hosts a one-of-a-kind play therapy 'clubhouse' that young children find engaging, safe, and yes, actually FUN.  Robbie has worked with children and their families since the onset of her practice.  She actively advocates for the needs of her young clients with teachers, tutors, physical or occupational therapists, family doctors, psychiatrists, and extended family members.  She also supports the System of Care philosophy and is a volunteer member of the Coalition for Children's Mental Health for the State of Tennessee.

Robbie has developed a special interest in treating the complex needs gifted children and has particular experience with those who are "twice-exceptional" -- gifted children with learning disabilities or other significant challenges that inhibit their growth and well-being.  She offers support groups, such as the SENG Gifted Parenting Group, and summer camps for these children and their families.  As a matter of fact, Robbie co-wrote a chapter, entitled "More is Different: Understanding and Engaging the Exceptionally Gifted Child" in the Handbook for Counselors Serving Students with Gifts and Talents: Development, Relationships, School Issues, and Counseling Needs/Interventions , edited by Tracy L. Cross, PhD, and Jennifer Reidl Cross, PhD.  The book was released by Prufrock Press on November 1, 2011.
