I have been a pastoral psychotherapist for over 40 years and my focus is on the needs and concerns of Christians seeking help. I have taught counseling in theological seminaries for 20 years as well. Christian counseling is not preaching or indoctrinating, but rather works from a committed Christian perspective to deal in an open way with the kinds of issues common to most people—depression, relationship problems, self-esteem difficulties and conflicts in sexuality or religious faith.. I use both theological and psychological resources to deepen my understanding of the therapeutic relationship.
