Sometimes it’s worse being alone in bed with a partner than being alone in bed. Other times the conflict seems unresolvable. How do we handle relationship issues? Understanding is key. Understanding of self and your partner are vital. With your goals in mind, I provide hope. Hope meaning, developing a plan and helping you see you can do the plan. I can help you in one of our offices or online. My wife Janet is also a therapist. Find out more JohnandJanetRaymond.com

Often the relationships we cherish the most are also the places where we experience the most discomfort. We can feel all sorts of variations of misunderstood, unheard and uncared for (and often our partner feels similarly). The good news is that growth and healing are possible. Our brains are built for relational healing--we just need help getting unstuck sometimes. I would be honored to walk with you and your partner in helping you both to better understand yourselves, and each other, in the places where you are experiencing difficulty. And in so doing help you both to experience each other in richer, more meaningful ways.

The first thing we address in relationship counseling is that the other person is not the problem. If that were the case, you could never be set free unless that person changes! We work toward common goals and communication techniques, but also individual triggers that cause the anger, anxiety, jealousy, lack of trust, guilt, irritation, sexual difficulties, and other intimacy issues that interfere with the relationship. That way, each person becomes the strongest and most secure self he/she can be; and that is an important foundation for any strong and secure relationship.

We offer traditional marriage/couples counseling as well as couples counseling for one. This is for the woman who can't get her boyfriend / husband to come in. Imagine no more threatening or begging. Come in by yourself and learn some strategies to create changes in yourself and your relationship. Actually, it's amazing how many boyfriends/spouses are interested in joining in after the woman initiates. So go ahead and lead the way to change. Don't let intimacy or communication problems take you down. I would love to help you.
