Eating Disorders require a compassionate approach. It is important to note that eating disorders are often misunderstood, which is frustrating for those who suffer with them. Additionally, eating disorder are not about foods, but are symptoms of internal struggles. It is important to conduct an assessment of a client's unique struggles and collaborate with physicians and nutritionists as part of treatment planning.

Eating disorders cover a wide range of behavior. This could be from simply eating too much to the more complex conditions of anorexia or bulimia. We have a special compassion for and an expertise in helping people that are struggling with eating disorders. Treatment plans include discipline strategies to change our thinking process about eating which results in a change of behavior. We also work with people who have experienced some type of emotional trauma which is usually a root cause of the more serious eating disorders. We work to find that root cause and not just deal with the symptoms of a condition.
