We offer psychotherapy based on personal interaction with our patients to help them make change and overcome problems in their desired ways. The goal is to increase a person's understanding of the issues they face, to resolve troubling behaviors, thoughts or feelings and to improve relationships and social functioning. We believe it takes courage to grow and change. We respect that ability in our patients.

We often use the terms individual psychotherapy, couple psychotherapy or family psychotherapy as a distinct approach from general counseling. I take this distinction to mean a working together in therapy with an intentional reference to personal, emotional, psychological or even psychiatric history as it affects emotional and relationship health. Today's emotional health does not come in isolation. Our present emotional health is influenced by the sum of our emotional history. That is true whether we refer to individuals or to relationships. The process of psychotherapy explores these connections to strengthen and to develop the individual for life going forward.

Psychotherapy requires a real commitment from those who seek this form of assistance. I offer a neutral sounding board and active listening to help clients achieve some insights into the behavior which is hindering their growth. Self awareness is the goal of the psychotherapy I practice. Behavior modification and serious reflection on behavior(s) are often needed for people to truly grow. Many techniques which I offer, such as Advanced Energy Psychology and EFT can be highly effective with many issues which arise in psychotherapy. I am Certified in Advanced Energy Psychology and have training in EFT and TFT. I am a licensed Professional Counselor.

My approach to psychotherapy is to be warm and nonjudgmental. I strive to provide an environment in which my clients can feel completely safe to disclose distressing thoughts, emotions, and experiences which have been distressing them. I truly feel that my clients are capable of anything and I want to support them in achieving their goals and meeting their potential.
